Fair Trade Thandi is in the process of achieving Fairtrade accreditation for all its fruit products. The Fairtrade Foundation helps establish greater equity in international trade by offering improved trading conditions to farmers in the developing world. Stringent standards of participation, equity and infrastructure have to be met before this accreditation is given. Keboes, Erfdeel, Misgund and Sun Orange Farm already carry the Fairtrade mark. DFID The British Department for International Development have taken a particular interest in the Thandi model and have provided us with valuable funding through the BLCF initiative. Companies like Deloitte and Touche, Safepak, Labelling Systems, Fresh Produce terminals and APL Cartons have also given us invaluable support.
